Daniel James Floyd
Bio:
Danny is a photographer and painter from Atlanta, GA. He holds a BFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and continued to live and work in Providence until coming to SAIC. He was an photography instructor for AS220 nonprofit art center where he develeoped new curricula on antique photography and helped the darkroom program expand to include and digital printing and editing studio. He also worked as an image specialist for Iolabs, inc., one of the nation's leading digital photography and fine art reproduction studioes. For the past two summers, he taught photo, video, and other media at Deerfield Academy Summer Arts Camp in Deerfield, MA. Danny was also an activist for Marriage Equality Rhode Island.

LIM TZAY-CHUEN: Extended Classroom:
Free and open to the public. Singapore artist Lim Tzay Chuen’s work engages with and intervenes in bureaucratic, cultural, social and economic systems, calling attention to the complex processes by which they operate. Through the Department of Exhibitions Lim will participate in formative dialogues with students and guest curator Lee Weng Choy to develop this presentation. Lim’s work has been included in the Venice Biennale, Biennale of Sydney, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Singapore. Lee Weng Choy, Visiting Faculty in the Department of Arts Administration and Policy, has devoted extensive research to Lim’s work. Born in Malaysia, and based in Singapore, Lee is an art critic and former artistic co-director of Singapore’s The Substation arts center. He has lectured and written widely on art and cultural studies, and is also president of the Singapore Section of the International Association of Art Critics.
