CURRENT PROJECT UPDATE
"I was two years old in 1984, the year my parents framed my very first crayon doodle, which still hangs in my mom and dad’s bedroom in its flashy gold frame. At the age of four, I took up my version of “mural painting”, applied Mattel plaster and splattered tempera paint to wall surfaces. When I turned seven, apparently inspired by the otherworldly works of Salvador Dali, I drew on my little brother Coco the first of many permanent marker mustaches. To say the least, I have been a little too curious and hyper-active for my own good, always testing the limits of those around me with all the dancing, drawing on the walls, singing in the shower, and …well, all the other crazy things I love to do.
Mayi, a quirky autobiography, is a testament to the unconditional love, support and encouragement of my parents, and my family. The book looks at the power of creative freedom, which uplifts the spirit, enriches the soul and inspires the heart to dream big and pursue larger than life stars.
Mayi, my first ever illustrated, written and published children’s book was one of these stars. One down, a million and so more to go!"
